Terms of Service

Use our software for legal purposes. Do not weaponize it. Do not misrepresent it as yours. Respect the architecture and the people the architecture was built to protect. If you cannot agree to these terms, do not use our software.

The sections below are not legal theater. They are the specific terms we mean and will act on. We wrote them plainly so there is no ambiguity about what is permitted and what is not.

You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use our applications for lawful purposes. This means:

• ▸Use our applications on your own devices for personal or professional purposes.
• ▸Use our applications to protect your own data, communications, and digital security.
• ▸Use our applications to the full extent of their documented capabilities.
• ▸Contact us with questions, feedback, or feature requests.

The following are explicit prohibitions. They are not exhaustive of all illegal conduct, but they name the specific categories we consider material violations of this agreement.

We build our software to the highest security standards we can defend. We publish our threat models. We name our known limitations. But no software is unconditionally secure against all possible adversaries under all possible conditions.

Our applications are provided as-is, under the honest representation of what they do and what they cannot do. We make no warranties beyond that honest representation. We are not liable for consequences that result from use cases outside the documented scope of our tools.

If our documentation states that a tool is designed for a specific threat model, and you use it against a threat our documentation does not cover, the resulting outcome is outside our responsibility. Read the documentation. Understand the tool.

The applications, their design, their architecture, their code, their branding, and this documentation are the intellectual property of Talos Group LLC. International copyright and trademark law applies. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution will be pursued. Creating derivative works that misrepresent their origin or exploit our brand is prohibited without exception.

We reserve the right to amend these Terms. If we do so in a way that meaningfully narrows your rights or expands our claims over your data or conduct, we will say so plainly and note the date. Continued use of our applications after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We commit that changes will never expand data collection in ways not already disclosed in our Privacy Policy without explicit notice.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of incorporation of Talos Group LLC, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that state.
